Tourism weekends vs campus terms on the same corridor

Hour-of-day heat that ignores calendars will send vans to the wrong blocks on Sunday afternoon.

Corridors that serve both a historic centre and a campus often average themselves into nonsense. Sunday tourism and Thursday lecture peaks cancel out in a weekly mean, then rebalancing plans chase ghosts.

Split the calendar

Tag days as tourism-heavy, campus-heavy, or mixed before you chart hour-of-day heat. Malaysian public holidays and term breaks should be labelled explicitly. A single “weekend” bucket is usually too blunt.

Read trip ends, not only starts

Tourists may start near hotels and end at promenades; students may reverse that pattern between hostels and lecture halls. Move lists that only chase morning starts will miss afternoon end clusters.

Brief the crew differently

Give supervisors two short cards: one for tourism Sundays, one for term-time weekdays. Same corridor, different expected volumes. Your Depot Rebalancing Brief should say which card applies on the delivery date.
